Head lice are small insects and are most common among school-aged children. They’re passed along by sharing infested clothing, like hats, or by using infested items, like combs.

Head lice is a serious public health problem. Between 6 and 12 million Americans are infested each year, according to the CDC. And experts say the bugs are becoming increasingly resistant to current treatments.
