Sleep Benefits For Kids

It’s no secret that people are sleeping less these days, even children. However, research has found that kids who get less sleep may be more likely to be overweight and at higher risk of health problems.

In the study, on average, the children slept about eight hours a night – which is well below the amount that experts recommend for kids. They found that obese children tended to sleep less, especially on the weekend. The researchers concluded that encouraging kids to sleep longer, with more regular schedules, could reduce their risk of obesity and improve their health.
