Stain Removal Savings

Our Money Saving Queen Sarah Roe shows us frugal fixes to help with these everyday problems. Tackle these 3 stubborn stains with items from “your” pantry…. water rings on your table, red wine stains and wax on linens. Here’s what you need to do.

“Up first… water rings on your table. You need to act quickly on this. Blot up the moisture and then I want you to take mayo… not the light stuff… you need the full-fat here my friends and smear it over the stain. Let it sit overnight, buff off in the morning and you will be amazed.”

“My friend Melanie dealt with this next mess over Christmas. Her husband spilled a glass of red wine on her new white area rug. I can only imagine her response. But here’s what she did. She immediately poured white wine on the stain and started blotting it. Then, she spritzed with a combo of vinegar and water, blotted some more and followed up with baking soda. That drew out the stain and dried it right up. Finally, wax on linens. Freeze the wax, gently scrap off what you can and then use a paper bag and iron to lift out the remaining wax. There you go… wax on… wax off. Frugal fixes to everyday problems.”
