The Mind Shift from Corporate to Entrepreneurship is a Spiritual Journey
Many women have decided in the last few years to leave their corporate jobs to have more flexibility, to make money on their terms – and for moms, to be present in their children’s lives. Deb Boulanger, a coach and consultant, talks about the journey from corporate leader to entrepreneur.
There are bumps in the road during this transition because, in truth, moving from a corporate leader to a business owner is a complete identity shift that brings up all your insecurities. Many underestimate the necessary identity shift. You go from knowing what to expect and how the world operates – to jumping into a completely different system where you’re unsure of the rules.
However, if you view entrepreneurship as a spiritual journey, it becomes an opportunity for professional and personal development, allowing you to fully show up and embrace the impact you want to make with your work. Understand that nothing in your past has prepared you for this journey into entrepreneurship. You need to get comfortable with fear, lean into it, and do things you’re unsure how to do.
That’s why it’s crucial to get guidance and be in a room with other entrepreneurs so you can grow, develop, and become who you are in this new identity you’re creating. Entrepreneurship is surely a spiritual journey for those who choose to undertake it.
