Travel Savings

Have you ever set your trip budget only to see it blown with extra expenses at every step? Our Money Saving Queen Sarah Roe keeps her budget in check with these cost saving tips. Now when your family travels, you can save too.

Sarah keeps her budget in check looking for hotels with the following freebies… Stay at hotels that offer free breakfast, free Wi-Fi, free fitness facilities, free parking, and other perks. She really likes Priceline.com. There’s an entire section dedicated to hotel freebies and it sorts by city. Love it!

Remember, kids under the age of 2 can fly any airline or ride Amtrak free of charge when the child sits on your lap. Cruising and skiing with kids can often include kids cruise free or ski for free promotions. “And” many include kids clubs so your little ones can have supervised fun while you have well-deserved grown up time.

One final app that will help when you are filling up your tank. GasBuddy is a free app that’s available on Android, iPhone and Windows Phones. Based on your location, you can figure out where the cheapest gas is in your area. No matter “where” you go or “how” you get there, I wish you “safe” and money saving travels!

Meet the Queen: Five years ago Sarah’s son had life threatening food allergies causing her family to spiral into a financial crisis. Today, she is an award-winning blogger, radio & television celebrity, speaker and author. Learn more: moneysavingqueen.com
