Good Grades
Studying harder may help students ace more than their school exams. It could help them pass medical tests years later.
Looking at the possible link between academic performance and health, researchers found that people who got better grades in high school had better health outcomes. The findings support the idea that math, reading and science promote good thinking skills, which in turn lead people to practice healthier lifestyles. Also, performance in high school can lead to better-paying jobs…another possible influence on health.
So today’s teens who spend a little more time cracking the books may end up feeling healthier and happier down the road … when they’re encouraging their own grandkids to study hard.
