Underage Drinking

Underage drinking is risky for a teens health. Here are a few ways to help keep your kids from drinking, as advised by the National Institute on Alcohol Abuse and Alcoholism.

  • Encourage your kids to have their friends over while you’re at home so you can meet them. But don’t allow parties or get-togethers in your home when you’re not there.
  • Get to know the parents of your child’s friends.
  • Set up clear “no drinking” agreements with your children.
  • And if you drink, do so moderately and always show good drinking behaviors, such as not drinking as a way to handle stress.
