New Milk Message

How much milk should a child drink? Researchers look at milk’s effect on Vitamin D and iron in kids.

A new study followed more than 13,000 children… ages of 2 to 5…tracking the amount of cow’s milk they drank each day. The conclusion? About two cups of milk per day will maintain adequate vitamin D levels in most children, but any more than that may cause another problem. Research also showed children with darker skin pigmentation need up to four cups in the winter months to maintain good Vitamin D levels.

As always, speak to your family doctor if you have questions about what’s right for your children.
