Postpartum Depression and Anxiety – Maternal Mental Health

Adjusting to motherhood is tough. While some mothers experience episodes of depression trying to conceive and during pregnancy, most mothers experience mood disorders after the baby is born – postpartum. These disorders are different from the “Baby Blues”. Women who struggle after childbirth may experience perinatal mood and anxiety disorders – which include depression and anxiety. When do you seek help?

MomLifeTV joins Marissa Sherov, a Holistic Psychotherapist, Maternal Mental Health Specialist, Mindfulness Teacher and Integrative Nutrition Health Coach from the Nesting Place in Long Island, NY. We discuss Maternal Mental Health and how new moms can navigate challenges in their new roles, find balance, decrease their anxiety, improve their mood, feel connected with their baby, and so much more.
